With Bob Macdonald

Every Wednesday night Bob Macdonald brings us two hours of Country Music.

He covers all bases from home grown country music, a euro-bluegrass feature, guests and interviews.

Requests, dedications and mentions very welcome.

Bob Macdonald who hosts Country Trails got involved in Broadcasting after realising the healing power of music and radio after his father recovered his speech caused by a series of strokes. His father listened to Gaelic programmes and when he first recovered he spoke in Gaelic for a day or so.

Bob was accepted as a volunteer on Red Dot Radio, (Edinburgh Hospital Broadcasting Service) in 1999 and co-hosted the Monday request show. Personal circumstances befell him and he which made it difficult to continue at Hospital Radio. He was a founder member of another Community Radio station, launch team and was scheduled in as the Afternoon Show presenter. He collaborated with the team preparing the December R.S.L in 2009, produced Country Trails for that month and has been with team since then.

Bob was also a founder member of a community oral history group, recording interviews of people of all ages about their memories of their local area. Those recordings are now stored at The School of Scottish Studies.

Bob A.K.A. Cuikencowboy has been a lifelong lover of music in general and has always had a leaning towards Country, his easy going style and wide spectrum of Country music choices welcomes the listener.
